Concept
SEEDME translates abstract 'memory' into tangible 'seeds' that users plant at specific GPS locations. These AR objects grow through social interaction — 'watering,' likes — and bloom into shared 3D content, creating an emotional and spatial layer over reality. Designed for next-generation AR glasses, it explores how self-expression will evolve in spatial computing.
Experience Design
The interaction grammar centers on cultivation rather than consumption: planting, tending, and growth as the core social acts, with gamification (berries, plant decoration) and a business model spanning K-pop brand challenges and local commerce.
Technology / Medium
Generative AI for 2D-to-3D conversion, GPS/RTK mapping, AR plane recognition, and full platform architecture for AR-native devices.
Process
Led the entire lifecycle from ideation to final pitch — narrative architecture ('Memory Grows'), UX flow, branding, tech stack definition, and monetization strategy. Twelve hours before the deadline, I identified that our initial VR concept was incompatible with the client's AR hardware and led a full strategic pivot to the location-based concept that won.
Outcome
Excellence Award — NIPA President's Award — at the 2024 Ministry of Science and ICT XR Ideathon. Judges praised it as 'a complete structure worthy of a startup idea.'
Reflection
SEEDME keeps my practice honest about scale: participatory worlds are not only rooms and sites but systems people live inside. The crisis pivot also proved that world-building is, operationally, decision-making under pressure.
